A Snapshot of my Life

I have always felt my purpose in life has been to help others.

Sometimes it could be as simple as a smile or a listening ear; or maybe financial help or volunteering with hospice.
I want to leave people feeling a little better than when we met.

I grew up on a farm in Kansas. I was the 2nd born of six children and was the motherly, caretaker, peacemaker - with a bit of an adventurous side and rebel to me as well.

Life then took me to beautiful, sunny California where I thrived in the sun and being close to the ocean. Eventually, I moved to Florida where people go to retire or start over. Once again, close to my beloved ocean.

Some days at the beach are bright & sunny. Two of my brightest days were the birth of my 2 children, Rachel and Jacob. They are now grown and married to amazing partners. I am so proud to be their mom.

On the flip side, there are sure to be storms come thru as well…financial hardship, a life threatening virus, the end of my 25 year marriage, and the death of my parents were a few of the storms I weathered. During those times I would look to the heavens for spiritual guidance and to the horizon for endless possibilities.

Once the storms pass, the sun always shines again. Now I photograph the beach/ocean as a way to remind me of my life’s journey. The good, the bad, the ugly. The landscape is ever changing. It will never look the same as the day I photograph it.

The ocean brings me to a calm, peaceful place of feeling one with the universe. At the beach, all is well. I continue to grow and explore life with a curious heart – ever grateful for all my blessings.

The ocean will forever be my happy place.
